Defense leader inspects Tra Vinh provincial armed forces’ task performance
PANO - A mission of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, inspected the implementation of military and defense missions, law dissemination, and discipline observance of the Tra Vinh provincial Military Command and Border Guard Command on August 16.
Speaking at the working sessions with the two commands, Gen. Tan praised the units for their outcomes obtained over the past time, asking them to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on military and defense work, strengthen ideological and political education to raise troops’ political stance and awareness, and handle law and discipline violations.

He urged the units to enhance the quality of following and forecasting situational developments to make recommendations to higher levels and localities; thoroughly grasp directives on combat readiness; build and strictly implement directives and combat readiness plans to protect security during holidays, festivals, especially the celebration of the 78th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day.
The deputy chief of the General Staff requested the provincial military command and border guard command to strictly implement higher levels’ directives on crime prevention, effectively carry out the project on promoting the military’s role in law dissemination, and cooperate with and make recommendations to local authorities to mobilize people to observe the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws.

Regarding military and defense missions, Gen. Tan asked the units to strictly grasp and seriously implement the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on the work and the Politburo’s resolution on building central provinces and cities into strong defensive areas in the new situation.
The units should regularly renew law dissemination and education methods, strengthen unity in agencies and units and with local people, and pay attention to taking care of troops’ material and spiritual life.
At the working sessions, Gen. Tan asked the Military Region 9 Command and the Vietnam Border Guard Command to collect opinions and report them to higher levels for consideration and approval.
