PANO - General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence, on February 4th paid a visit to Regiment 692 (Division 301, Hanoi Capital Command).
After inspecting some units of the regiment, General Thanh was briefed on the achievements in implementing tasks, organizing Lunar New Year (Tet) festival and preparing for the first enlistment drive of 2014 of Regiment 692, Division 301, and the Hanoi Capital Command by their leaders.
Lieutenant General Phi Quoc Tuan, Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, said that last year, the unit proposed to the Hanoi People’s Committee to effectively conduct military and defence works and enlistment, strengthened defensive area building, carried out search and rescue, and strictly managed land for defence and security purposes.
Especially, it received compliments by the city’s leaders on fulfilling missions in the 2013 Hanoi defensive area exercise, he added.
For his part, the Minister of National Defence highly valued the efforts of the command and its subordinate units in completing tasks and held that over the past 3 years, Division 301 in general and Regiment 692 in particular instituted deep changes in carrying out training, beautifying barracks, and managing weapons and military equipment.
He also asked Regiment 692 to continuously build comprehensive strong unit, maintain solidarity with other units, protect the property of the State, Army and local people, promote troops’ professionalism and living standards, improve personnel work, and promptly commend good examples.
General Thanh stressed that the Hanoi Capital Command should issue suitable training courses for trainees to get the best results.
On this occasion, the general extended Tet greetings to troops of the command.
