At the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Tai Son, Political Commissar of the provincial Border Guard Command, briefed the delegation on the task performance of COVID-19 prevention of its troops from the beginning of the pandemic.
Notably, they strictly controlled the illegal exit and entry through border crossings and effectively prevented all types of crime.
Border troops have always received the support from local authorities and people to overcome their difficulties so that they successfully fulfilled all assigned tasks, he added.
Regarding the Vietnam Border Guard Law, Senior Colonel Son affirmed that troops and authorities at all levels expected the National Assembly to soon approve the legal document. It is the highest legal basis and the most specific document drawn from 60 years of building and protecting the border of the people.
The Vietnam Border Guard Law is also expected to meet the requirements for national protection mission in the current context.
At the working session, representatives of the Moc Bai International Border Gate informed delegates of their difficulties in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic, and its achievements in coordinating with other forces to control the disease at the border gate.
Concluding the meeting, Tien praised the great efforts of the provincial border guard troops in implementing their assigned missions in response to the COVID-19, and also said that the National Assembly will soon pass and promulgate the Vietnam Border Law.
This document will facilitate the building of an elite border guard force, thereby meeting the task requirements.
