During the event, crews on five participating ships of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command will show their political and logistical knowledge, navigation skills, and their command of weapons, radars, and other observing equipment. They will also demonstrate their sailing and navigation skills as well as their experiences in dealing with incidents at sea.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Hau emphasized that ships and mounted weapons and equipment are the backbone of the coast guard, demonstrating the strength of the force. They are valuable assets of the Party, State, and people. Therefore, each crew-member on ships in particular and personnel of the whole force should heighten their responsibility to preserve and effectively maximize the abilities of the ships.
General Hau also said that the outcomes of the competition will help evaluate Coast Guard Region 2’s training and combat readiness capabilities as well as its management and command of ships and mounted weapons and equipment over the past time. The results will be used by the force to raise its personnel’s training quality, combat readiness capability, and competence. It will also effectively implement the “Good, durable, and safe management of weapons, equipment, and traffic safety” campaign (Campaign 50) and the “Good management and durable exploitation” movement.
To ensure the success of the competition, units under the Coast Guard Region 2 Command have mobilized its personnel to repaint ships’ hulls and bridges and maintain technical equipment.
