During the program, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command updated officials, civil servants, public employees, owners of fishing trawlers, fishermen and local people in Xuyen Moc district with information related to the security situation at sea and on islands and popularized the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, the Law on Fisheries and legal regulations on illegal fishing prevention and control.

Meanwhile, the command worked with Hung Vuong Hospital to provide free health check-ups and medicines for fishermen; visited and presented 150 gifts to policy beneficiaries and needy fishermen; as well as handed over 20 national flags, medicine cabinets and gifts to ship owners, captains of trawlers, among others.

According to Senior Colonel Cao Xuan Quan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, since 2021, the Command has teamed up with the party  committees and local authorities of many localities to hold dissemination activities about law and sea and islands among more than 14,000 officials, civil servants, public employees, students, fishermen and local people; carry out 13 contests “I love national sea and islands” for more than 50,000 secondary school students; offer more than 4,000 gifts to local people, 130 bicycles and more than 500 scholarships to students. Meanwhile, the command presented 4,800 national flags, 50 medicine bags, and medicine cabinets to fishermen.

These practical activities contributed to tightening the close ties between troops and people and beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
