PANO – A high-ranking defence delegation, led by the Commissar of the General Department of Politics, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich, paid a working visit to the Mieu Mon Military Training Centre to check the organisation of the Military Sporting Festival 2011.
Major-General Nguyen Duc Than, Chief of the Military Training Department and Vice-Chairman of the Organising Board, briefed him on the results of the preparation works for the festival and achievements of military athletes during the past two days.
The Chief of the General Department of Politics appraised efforts of officers, soldiers and athletes from units, who have created a successful whole-army sporting festival. He instructed the Organising Board and referees to direct the festival in proper, fair and honest manners.
He visited accommodation for athletes, encouraged them to strive for high records and at the same time to maintain security in the Centre as well as friendship and comradeship among units.
The Lieutenant-General suggested that the Organising Board should appropriately commend and reward organisations and individuals with high records at the closing ceremony and finally make all soldiers understand the meaning of the festival.
The Military Sporting Festival held every year aims to encourage officers and soldiers across the whole army to play sports and take physical exercises to become strong and healthy troops to firmly protect the country.
