PANO – Son La provincial Border Guard should closely keep track of local situations and cooperate with relevant forces to timely prevent and effectively deal with drug dealers.
The request was made by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence at the working session with the provincial People’s Committee and Border Guard Command to review drug trafficking and crime prevention along Vietnam-Laos border over the past time while overcoming short-comings and boosting measures to effectively carry out the work in the time to come.

The General also praised the efforts of the unit’s cadres and troops and their achievements in fighting drug trafficking and crimes in border areas.
Since early this year, Son La provincial Border Command has worked with relevant units to deal with drug trafficking cases, seizing a great amount of heroin, guns and ammunitions.
At the working session, the Deputy Defence Minister also requested the unit’s cadres and troops to raise their political stance and work with Lao forces to prevent crimes, contributing to peace, friendship and development in the border area.
