Reporting to the inspection team, Senior Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh, Commanding Officer of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, stated that their unit is responsible for 98km of borderline (with more than 12km along rivers). The political security and social order in the border area are generally stable.
In 2023, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command has comprehensively implemented various aspects of border guard work, effectively fulfilling the state management over the national border. The unit has maintained the regular operation of 85 border teams and checkpoints, efficiently carrying out border management and protection tasks, and preventing unauthorized border crossings.

The An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command’s Party Committee has also consistently led party organizations, directed border posts and units to strictly follow Party and political work regulations.
Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai commended the troops for their efforts and contribution, especially in carrying out their border management and protection duties.
The Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command emphasized that in the future, the unit should be even more pro-active in grasping situations, coordinating with other management and protection forces to firmly safeguard national sovereignty, border security, border markers, maintain order and security in border areas, border gates, maintain good relations, and regularly exchange information with local authorities and the border protection force of Cambodia.
