Accordingly, the exhibition showcased more than 400 documents, artifacts and photos to disseminate information about the foundation, building, fighting and growth of the ADAF over the past 60 years; as well as historical milestones and great feats-of-arms of the service on the air-to-air front.
Reviewing the history of 60 years, Lt. Gen. Tran Ngoc Quyen underlined that the important milestone was the establishment of the Air Defense - Air Force Service on October 22, 1963 on the basis of merging the Air Defense Command and the Department of the Air Force. This was a historical event marking the remarkable growth of the service and the Vietnam People's Army, and creating premise for the country’s resistance war against the U.S. imperialists throughout the country to defeat the U.S. military escalation against the great rear of the socialist North.
