During the working session, the Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee reported that over the past five years, the province has effectively conducted information dissemination about the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard among local people via various forms. Therefore, local people have a better understanding of basic contents of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, contributing to heightening their responsibilities in protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands.

After inspection in Binh Hung ward (Phan Thiet city), Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong spoke highly of the remarkable achievements obtained by Binh Thuan province in the implementation of the project on disseminating information about Law on Vietnam Coast Guad in the 2019-2023 period.
The deputy defense minister also required the province to focus on building dissemination plans close to reality to promote the role of agencies, departments, branches and relevant forces; continue to renovate law dissemination contents and forms; and apply information technology in law dissemination and build up specialized pages and categories on the media to increase the efficiency of the dissemination work.
Meanwhile, the province should honor collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in disseminating information about the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, to name but a few.
* On the same day, a MND’s delegation, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, visited and checked Defense-Economic Unit 337’s performance in military-defense tasks and the development of Khe Sanh defense-economic zone project.
Khe Sanh defense-economic zone in Quang Tri covers 13 communes with extremely difficult conditions of Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts. Among them, there are eight communes bordering Savannakhet and Salavan provinces in Laos. Up to now, Defense-Economic Unit 337 has completed the construction of nine projects and handed over them to local authorities. The unit is conducting 19 other projects.

Speaking at the working session, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San required Defense-Economic Unit 337 to fulfill military-defense tasks combined with socio-economic development; strictly maintain regulations on combat readiness and cooperate with other forces to ensure political security, social safety and order in the locality; and synchronously implement measures to respond to natural disasters and search and rescue operations.
The Party Committee of the unit should pay more attention to the building of a healthy and strong Party organization associated with a comprehensively-strong, “exemplary and typical” unit.
On the occasion, the MND delegation offered incense and flowers to pay tribute to martyrs at the Truong Son national war cemetery and the memorial house in dedication to martyrs of Defense-Economic Unit 337.
* Also on the same day in Hanoi, a MND’s delegation, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, worked with the Military Technical Academy (MTA).
The deputy defense minister checked the MTA’s performance in the production of technical materials and the training of human resources for digital transformation in the MND.

In 2023, the MTA has gained several positive achievements in the production of technical materials. The academy has defined the training of human resources to ensure the development of e-government in the MND as one of the key tasks in this year. Thereby, the academy has actively updated and supplemented the contents of training programs on e-Government development and digital transformation according to regulations of the State and the MND.
Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh required the MTA to effectively implement resolutions and conclusions of the Central Military Commission on military-defense, education and training work while focusing on enhancing the quality of education and training, and scientific research to meet the requirements of digital transformation in the MND.
