The Vietnamese delegation included 20 members led by Senior Colonel Tran Viet Nang, Head of Military Youth Advisory Board.

During the eight-day program, the Vietnamese young officers had exchange with Lao units and visited historical relic and sceneries. The highlight of the exchange program was a seminar, themed “Sharing the Truong Son Mountain Range – Deep Friendship,” on November 18 with the participation and direction of the Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Lao People’s Army.

At the exchanges, representatives of Lao units expressed their joy to share their experience in training and performing professional tasks.

Meanwhile, Senior Colonel Tran Viet Nang briefed Lao units on outstanding achievements in training, studying, working, and protecting and building the nation obtained by young Vietnamese officers in particular and Vietnamese troops in general. The head of Vietnamese delegation wished to further strengthen exchange and experience sharing activities, creating momentum for the development of special cooperation relations between Vietnam and Laos.

During events within the program, young officers from both sides exchanged experience in force building, training, exercises, combat readiness, regulatory building, production, search and rescue, and natural disasters mitigation and relief. They also talked about approaches to enhance the role and responsibility of young officers in building strong and comprehensive units.

On November 22, the delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army completed their activities within the “Vietnam – Laos Young Officers Exchange 2022” and left for their home country.
