Vietnam is one of the countries that recently took part in the UN peacekeeping operations and thus it still lacks specialized knowledge and practical experience in this field, including the International Humanitarian Law.

As a result this course, lectured by experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), gave the trainees valuable experience on the application of the law and implementation of tasks in UN Missions.

Co-organized by the Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre and ICRC, the event also paved the way for the further cooperation between the two units in the field of the UN peacekeeping operations.
