At the event

At the talks, both sides spoke highly of the obtained outcomes in implementing the contents mentioned in the agreement in the 2023-2024 dry season. During task performance, Team K53 of Kon Tum province received wholehearted support from the Party committees, authorities and people in Sekong and Champasak provinces.

The two sides agreed that there have remained remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisers who laid down their lives during the war in the two Lao provinces. Therefore, under the policy of the Vietnamese and Lao governments, Kon Tum province continues to mobilize Team K53 to Laos for search and collection mission.

To get higher efficiency in the search, collection and repatriation of martyrs’ remains, the two sides should further promote coordination, boost dissemination and encourage people to provide information about martyrs and their burial places; and create favorable conditions and ensure safety for the search and collection team.

On the occasion, Kon Tum province’s Specialized Committee handed over the Kon Tum People’s Committee’ certificates of merit to collectives and individuals from Sekong and Champasak provinces for their achievements in coordination in task implementation of the 2023-2024 dry season.

Team K53 is expected to depart for Laos to perform the mission from October 24, 2024 to May 31, 2025.
