Young Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian officers offer flowers and incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap. |
Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are as close as lips and teeth and if united in struggle, they would surely achieve victory, the young officers further deepened their understanding of the historical value of the special solidarity among the three brotherly nations.
Under the guidance of President Ho’s thought, and with the leadership of the parties and revolutionary armies of the three countries, the peoples and armed forces of the three Indochinese nations stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing hardships and sacrifices, fighting together against common enemies, and writing glorious chapters of pure, faithful and steadfast international solidarity in combat.
The delegation pledged absolute loyalty to the revolutionary ideals, to continue preserving and fostering the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation among the armies and peoples of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. They promised to constantly study, train and improve their political steadfastness, professional competence and spirit of international solidarity, contributing to building increasingly strong armed forces in each country and safeguarding regional peace, stability and development.
After the incense-offering ceremony, the delegation visited the replica of President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house and fish pond, and took part in practical activities at the outdoor experience area of the Military Region 5 Museum.
The activities helped young officers from the three countries gain a deeper understanding of history and tradition, while enhancing exchanges and strengthening solidarity and friendship among today’s young generation of the three militaries.
