The general affirmed that Vietnam also considers the anniversary one of its major political events, and organizes a number of activities on the occasion with an aim of popularizing and educating the two countries’ young generations about the bilateral time-honored traditional relationship.

General Nghia highlighted the close relationship between the two countries in their resistance wars for national independence in the past and the present national construction and defense cause, and affirmed that the bilateral defense cooperation is one of the important pillars in their ties.

According to the general, under the leadership of the two Defense Ministries, their relevant units and agencies have seriously teamed up to implement signed agreements and gained considerable results. He wished the Vietnam-Laos relations last forever.

For his part, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane thanked General Nghia for the greetings to the Lao People’s Army and emphasized that the 70th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army offers a good opportunity to reminisce the special alliance in combat between the two militaries.

The Lao diplomat underlined that the development of the Lao People’s Army has resulted partly from the support from the Vietnamese Party, State, Government, Army, and people. He pledged to do his utmost to further strengthen the bilateral traditional relationship and solidarity.
