Vietnamese defense leader hosts Chinese defense attachés

At the reception, General Chien spoke highly of Senior Colonel Luo Bin’s efforts and contributions during his term of office as the Chinese defense attaché to Vietnam to fostering the bilateral defense ties. He hoped the outgoing defense attaché, in his new post, will continue to contribute to the development of the defense relations between the two countries.

Congratulating Senior Colonel Pan Tao on his appointment as new Chinese defense attaché to Vietnam, General Chien hoped the Chinese officer will do his utmost to contribute to boosting the bilateral defense ties in a more practical and effective manner.  The Vietnamese deputy defense minister affirmed that the Vietnamese defense ministry will create favorable conditions to help the Chinese defense attaché fulfill his term of office.

General Chien reaffirmed that the Vietnamese Government and Defense Ministry have always attached importance to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, considering this a premise to strengthen the bilateral defense ties.

He said over the past seventy years, the bilateral defense cooperation has developed continuously, and gradually become one of the important pillars of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, particularly after the two defense ministries signed a protocol on defense cooperation. Cooperation activities have been made routine, in increasingly diverse forms and with more pragmatic outcomes, he continued. According to the Vietnamese general, the two sides have maintained the exchange of high-ranking delegations, as well as cooperation mechanisms between the two naval forces, coast guard forces and research institutes, and in military medicine in a flexible manner.

Land border cooperation has also been implemented fruitfully, contributing to building the border of peace, stability and development, General Chien added.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Luo Bin thanked the Vietnamese defense ministry for the support to help him fulfill his term of office and hoped to contribute more to the development of the China - Vietnam defense ties. Furthermore, he affirmed that he hopes the Vietnamese defense ministry will create more favorable conditions to help newly-appointed Chinese defense attaché Senior Colonel Pan Tao fulfill his term of office in Vietnam.
