Vietnam, China reinforce defense cooperation

At the meeting, General Giang confirmed that the consistent standpoint of the Party, State, and military of Vietnam is to always attach importance to their relationship with China, and always do their best to consolidate and promote traditional relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with the country.
The Vietnamese Defense Minister also revealed that in the coming time, the two defense ministries will organize a number of defense diplomacy activities, including defense strategy dialogues, border defense friendship exchanges, and the Chinese Defense Minister’s official visit to Vietnam. Giang stressed that these are important political events of the two countries.
During the meeting, General Giang and Ambassador Xiong Bo underscored that bilateral defense cooperation is one of the pillars of the relationship between the two Parties and States.
They also highlighted the practical outcomes of the bilateral defense ties as well and diverse cooperation activities, especially since the two defense ministries signed the Joint Vision Statement on Defense Cooperation.
The host and guest stressed that the continuity of promoting tradition, fostering the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in general and the bilateral defense ties in particular is a historical responsibility, and objective requirement that meets the aspiration and basic and long-term interests of the two peoples and militaries.
