Vietnamese defense delegation attends Dubai Airshow 2025
PANO - At the invitation of the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, attended the Dubai Airshow 2025 in Dubai and worked with the UAE Ministry of Defense.

The Dubai Airshow is among the world’s leading international aviation exhibitions. This year’s event brings together nearly 1,500 exhibitors from 98 countries, featuring an impressive display of nearly 200 aircraft and showcasing the latest advancements in aviation and defense technology.
Vietnam’s participation demonstrates the Ministry of National Defense’s commitment to international cooperation in the defense industry. It reaffirms that the Vietnamese Government and Ministry of National Defense consistently facilitate the enhancement of international exchange and cooperation in the defense industry on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, respect for Vietnamese law, and compliance with international commitments.
During the exhibition, General Chien and the delegation visited various booths and met with defense enterprises from the UAE and several other countries. The defense leader proposed that Vietnam and its partners boost exchanges and explore potential areas of cooperation suited to each side’s capabilities, agreeing on orientations to strengthen defense industry cooperation in the coming period.
On November 17, General Chien witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the UAE’s Edge Group.

The MoU establishes a solid foundation for extensive cooperation potential in the high-tech defense industry. It also outlines a roadmap for joint initiatives of mutual interest, including the potential development of original equipment manufacturing (OEM) models in Vietnam for components and modules compatible with Edge’s product lines, targeting the UAE and other export markets. The agreement further expands opportunities for research collaboration, technology exchange and transfer, and cooperation in technical training.
General Chien congratulated Viettel and Edge on the signing of the MoU, while recommending that both sides maintain communication and work closely together to concretize the agreed-upon contents and develop implementation plans for specific cooperative activities in key areas in the near future.
