The Singapore Airshow is the biggest biannual air show in Asia. Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the event were Minister for Transport of Singapore Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Defense of Singapore Heng Chee How, and representatives from different defense ministries. According to the organization panel, this year’s event involves the participation of more than 900 aviation and defense companies from over 45 countries and territories worldwide.

At the air show, the Vietnamese military delegation attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony; visited booths and product display areas of a number of major international businesses and corporations; and watched flight demonstrations put on by air forces from the host Singapore, India, the U.S., the Republic of Korea, China, and Indonesia, Australia, and several other international civil airlines.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the delegation held meetings with several partners in order to discuss issues of mutual concern and bilateral cooperation.

During a meeting with Deputy Defense Minister of the Czech Republic Daniel Blazkovec, Gen. Son thanked the country for its valuable help in the struggles for national independence and construction of Vietnam, going on to express joy at the outstanding defense link results between both nations recorded recently. At the same time, he hoped to continue boosting bilateral cooperation in fields such as delegation exchanges and training.
Meanwhile, at the meeting with Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Air Force Andrew Hunter, Gen. Son underlined that relations between the two countries have continued to develop well recently in accordance with the comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. In the coming time, the two sides should seek to augment linkages on the basis of signed documents, with priority given to bolstering co-operation in training, search and rescue, military medicine, engaging in U.N. peacekeeping forces, and overcoming the consequences of war in Vietnam.

Also at bilateral meetings with other countries and partners, Gen. Son respectfully thanked their defense ministries and militaries for sending high-level delegations to the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022 and hoped that they would continue to support and attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army.
