At the meeting with Deputy Fleet Commander Commodore Ray Leggatt, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong thanked the host for the solemn reception. He emphasized that the cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Royal Australian Navy plays a vital role in the bilateral defense ties.

For his part, Commodore Ray Leggatt said there remains an ample room for the cooperation between the Royal Australian Navy in general and the Fleet Base East in particular with the Vietnam People’s Navy to develop.

He hoped that Gen. Cuong will continue paying attention to, supporting and creating conditions for such a cooperation.

On the occasion, Gen. Cuong and other members of the high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation were briefed by Commodore Leggatt on the fleet’s organization, functions, missions, achievements, and future goals.
