During the working session, VAVA Chairman Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh sent his sincere thanks and highly appreciated the contribution of Mr. Tim Rieser in promoting cooperation in overcoming war aftermath between the two governments, which is considered a highlight in Vietnam-U.S. relations.

He also expressed his hope that Mr. Tim Rieser would continue to make recommendations to the U.S. Government and Congress to pay due attention to the cooperation program with Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of the war in Vietnam, especially an inclusive long-term support program for Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO) victims.

Besides, the VAVA Chairman also recommended some solutions, affirming that the U.S. side should further support Vietnamese AO victims. In addition, U.S. support should be extended to many provinces and cities of Vietnam, with priority given to direct aid to victims’ families.
