Vietnam – U.S. trade ties to be promote
PANO – The Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the People’s Committee of HCM City and the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Amcham), held the Vietnam – U.S. Trade Forum 2020 in HCM City, on November 18.
The forum aimed to update information and orientations of trade and investment policies of Vietnam and U.S. in the coming years.
Since the signing of the Vietnam - U.S. Trade Agreement in 2000, the two-way trade of the two countries has witnessed significant development.
Particularly, U.S. was the largest export market of Vietnam in the first 10 months of this year with the total export turnover exceeding USD 62 billion, increasing 24 percent compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam also imported a large number of products and equipment from the U.S., totaling USD 11.6 billion.
At the forum, participants discussed solutions to help businesses of the two countries take advantage of opportunities to implement long-term effective business; further promote the participation of Vietnamese enterprises in the global supply chain as well as enhance trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam - U.S. businesses through information dissemination and activities to connect both nations’ enterprises.
