At the ACDFM-20, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently adheres to the principle of settling disputes and disagreements by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for the independence, sovereignty and legitimate interests of countries, and in compliance with international laws, including UNCLOS 1982.

Delegates highly appreciated Vietnam’s activeness and pro-activeness and the country’s initiative on the establishment of the ASEAN Military Intelligence Community. Accordingly, the first ASEAN Military Intelligence Community Leaders’ Conference (AMICLC-1) will be held in Vietnam. The AMICLC-1 is Vietnam’s initiative proposed in 2020 as Vietnam’s role as ASEAN 2020 Chair.
