The event saw the presence of Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan. The ceremony was chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien. Present at the event was also Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The event also saw the attendance of the U.N. Resident Coordinator, foreign ambassadors, and foreign defense attachés to Vietnam.

On behalf of leaders of the Party and State, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged the positive results that the Vietnamese military has achieved in previous U.N. peacekeeping missions within the past 10 years, which are considered one of the highlights in the multilateral foreign policies of Vietnam so far.
Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan believed that the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 and Engineering Company Rotation 3 would further uphold their predecessors’ task performance, try their best in U.N. peacekeeping operations, deserve the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, and act as peacemakers to contribute to beautifying the image of the Vietnamese people and military in the current context.

At the same time, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan urged functional agencies to further promote strategic research on the U.N. peacekeeping operations, expand the country’s participation realms and raise the percentage of women in this field.
She also requested functional agencies to continuously raise human resources’ political stance and competence via medical, military, and language training programs in preparation for the following deployments.
According to Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 consists of 63 members. Meanwhile, the Engineering Company Rotation 3 has 184 members, including 18 females.

Delivering speeches at the event, the commanding staffs of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 and Engineering Company Rotation 3 pledged to promote the attainments of their predecessors; foster internal solidarity and international unity; and bring into play their capabilities during the performance of the noble duties assigned by the Party, State, military, and people to meet the requirements of the U.N.
