At the event, the two sides agreed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the center has conducted its scientific and technological activities in line with the plan set for this year and the scientific and technological research program in the 2020-2024 period which were both approved at the previous meeting.
This year, the center implemented 50 projects and one mission related to tropical ecology, materials, and biomedicine. It conducted 34 field studies and scientific workshops on tropical materials and biomedicine. Additionally, the center published 126 articles on prestigious international and Russian scientific journals.
Notably, it effectively took full advantage of the Russia-gifted mobile laboratory in the COVID-19 fight. The lab has provided SARS-CoV-2 tests for nearly 20,000 troops and people in pandemic-hit localities.
Also at the meeting, the center’s scientific and technological plan for 2021 was approved. Delegates suggested the center promote technological transfer and apply outcomes of research to reality while enhancing the effectiveness of its scientific and technological programs.
The two sides also agreed on the agenda for the 32nd meeting and signed the minutes of the 31st meeting.
