Since 2000, the event has been accompanied by ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) discussing regional military and security issues, and AARM closing ceremony attended by the chiefs of armies. Since 2011, ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (ASMAM) was first added to the event in Indonesia. This year, the Vietnam People's Army hosts the 24th AARM, the 15th ACAMM and the 4th ASMAM. This will be for the first time the Vietnam People's Army hosts ACAMM and ASMAM conferences, and for the second time AARM (the first time in 2006).
Contents, such as plan building and implementation, security maintenance, medical assurance, information and communication, and so on, have so far been submitted for approval and all the preparation needed for the events has been basically completed.
Accordingly, AARM-24, ACAMM-15, and ASMAM-4 will be held in Hanoi from November 19th to 28th 2014, showing the fine military relations among countries in the region while providing an opportunity for the armies to extend exchange and integration, contributing to enhancing solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding, and trust among ASEAN militaries.
