Vietnam, India hold defense policy dialogue
PANO - The thirteenth Vietnam-India defense policy dialogue at the deputy defense minister level took place in a virtual form on January 12.
Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Indian Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar co-chaired the event.

Both officials agreed that the bilateral defense cooperation has been developing in spite of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the two sides organized video conferences to carry out set plans, focusing on sharing experiences in COVID-19 prevention and control discussing measures to strengthen cooperation post-COVID-19. They also realized signed documents and agreements inked by leaders of the two countries and two defense ministries.
Regarding future cooperation, the two sides agreed to continue to effectively carry out cooperation contents, especially the agreements reached by the two countries’ Prime Ministers during their phone talk on December 21, 2020, and by the two Defense Ministers during their phone call on November 27, 2020.
They noted that after the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled, the two sides will boost delegation exchanges at all levels and cooperation in personnel training, between military corps and arms, in defense industry, UN peacekeeping operations, and in multilateral forums.
