Vietnam - India defense cooperation to be boosted
PANO - Vietnam and India will strongly promote bilateral cooperation, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army made the statement while hosting Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma on November 23 in Hanoi.
At the meeting, General Cuong thanked Ambassador Pranay Verma for always attaching much importance to promoting the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and militaries.
General Cuong also lauded India’s considerable achievements in socio-economic development over the past years, as well as its increasingly important position in the region and the world.For his part, the Indian diplomat affirmed that over the past time, defense cooperation has always played an important part in the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Both sides also highly valued the outcomes of the Vietnam - India comprehensive strategic partnership over the past time despite the complicated development of COVID-19.
In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the signed agreements between the two countries’ leaders and defense ministries. They also committed to strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation for the sake of the two peoples as well as for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
