Vietnam, Cambodia promote medical cooperation
PANO - A delegation of Preahket Mealea Hospital under the Royal Cambodian Army, led by Lieutenant General Chao Sambath, Deputy Director of the hospital's Department of Politics, on January 22 visited and worked with Military Hospital 175 under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.
During the visit, both sides exchanged and shared information about the situation, their achievements and cooperation in training, and treatment for officers of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces over the past years. Leaders of Preahket Mealea Hospital expressed his deep thanks to leaders, doctors and staff of Military Hospital 175 for their support, including the 13 trips to provide medical check-ups and operations for Cambodian troops and people, the transferring of new techniques to doctors of the Cambodian hospital, and training for staff of Preahket Mealea Hospital in accordance with contents of the protocol signed by the two countries.
Last year, Military Hospital 175 provided health check-ups for 514 senior officers of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
At the event, the two sides also exchanged such cooperation contents as improving the effectiveness of training for doctors, receiving patients transferred from Preahket Mealea Hospital, and transferring of intensive technologies.
On the occasion, leaders of the Cambodian hospital also extended the best wishes to doctors and staff of Military Hospital 175 for the upcoming Tet (lunar New Year) holiday and hoped them successfully complete all assigned tasks.
