His appreciation was made during his reception on January 12, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) for Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chea Kimtha who was on a farewell visit at the conclusion of her tenure.

The Vietnamese defense chief congratulated Ambassador Chea Kimtha on the successful completion of her term in Vietnam, and affirmed that the Vietnamese MND acknowledged and highly appreciated the diplomat’s important contribution to consolidating and developing the solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general, and between the two defense ministries in particular.
He noted that in its foreign policy, Vietnam attaches great importance to and continuously nurtures the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.
Expressing his delight at the positive outcomes in the friendly relations among Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Gen. Giang emphasized that cooperation among the three parties and the peoples of the three countries has continued to expand across all fields. In this context, political relations remain the foundation, Party-to-Party relations play a guiding role, defense and security cooperation has been effectively promoted, while cooperation in economy, trade, investment, culture, education, and science - technology has seen positive progress.

He spoke highly of achievements in bilateral defense cooperation, especially in all-level delegation exchanges, particularly high level ones; dialogue, consultation, information and situation-sharing mechanisms; education and training; border management and protection; twinning activities; education and information dissemination on bilateral relations; search for and repatriation of martyrs’ remains; and coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums and events hosted by each side.
The Vietnamese defense minister hoped that in her new position, Ambassador Chea Kimtha will continue to maintain her warm sentiments for Vietnam and further contribute to strengthening and promoting the increasingly close relations between the two countries and their militaries.
For her part, Ambassador Chea Kimtha expressed her appreciation to the Vietnamese MND for its consistent support and close coordination, which enabled her to successfully fulfill her mission of connecting and promoting friendly and cooperative relations between the two sides during her working term.
She extended her condolences to the families and victims affected by recent storms, floods and natural disasters in Vietnam.

She congratulated the Vietnamese MND on the successful organization of major events, particularly the inauguration of the international solidarity, friendship and gratitude symbol area at the Vietnam Military History Museum.
The Cambodian diplomat affirmed that the Party, State, armed forces and people of Cambodia always remember the assistance provided by their Vietnamese counterparts in Cambodia’s struggle for national liberation, the restoration of freedom and peace, and the revival of the country. She hoped that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate closely and effectively implement agreed areas of cooperation, thereby further promoting relations between the two countries and the two defense ministries.
