During the meeting, the Defense Minister congratulated Ambassador Chea Kimtha on the successful completion of her tenure in Vietnam, affirming that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense acknowledged and highly appreciated the ambassador’s important contributions to strengthening and developing the solidarity, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general, and between the two Ministries of National Defense in particular.
General Giang noted that in its foreign policy, Vietnam attaches great importance to and consistently works to nurture the relationship of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.
General Phan Van Giang emphasized that cooperation among the Parties and the peoples of the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia has continued to expand across all fields. Political relations remain the foundation, Party-to-Party relations play a guiding role in trilateral ties, defense and security cooperation has been promoted effectively, while cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, culture, education, and science and technology has seen positive progress. The defense leader highly valued the increasingly substantive and effective bilateral defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

He expressed his hope that in her new position, Ambassador Chea Kimtha would continue to maintain the warm sentiments toward Vietnam and further contribute to fostering and advancing the increasingly strong and enduring relations between the two countries and their armed forces.
Ambassador Chea Kimtha expressed her appreciation to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for its continued support and close coordination, which enabled her to successfully fulfill her mission of connecting and promoting friendly and cooperative relations between the two sides during her tenure in Vietnam.
The diplomat also conveyed her condolences to the families affected by and victims of recent storms, floods, and natural disasters in Vietnam. In addition, she congratulated the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on the successful organization of major events, particularly the inauguration of the Monument Complex for Solidarity, Friendship, and International Gratitude at the Vietnam Military History Museum.

The ambassador affirmed that the Party, State, armed forces, and people of Cambodia always remember the assistance provided by the Party, State, armed forces, and people of Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation, the restoration of freedom and peace, and the revival of the country. She expressed her hope that in the coming period, the two sides would continue to coordinate closely and effectively implement the agreed areas of cooperation, thereby further promoting relations between the two countries in general and between the two Ministries of National Defense in particular.
