Earlier on December 21, Vietnam’s Ship 253 and Cambodian’s Ship 1143 conducted their 73rd joint patrol in the Vietnam-Cambodia historical waters.

During the patrol, the two sides conducted Hello ASEAN - a saluting ceremony among naval ships of ASEAN member states; exchanged information; practiced hand flag and lamp signaling according to International Code of Signals; practiced search and rescue; organized exchanges and gift presentation at sea.

According to Captain Doan Van Khung, Second-in-Command of Brigade 127 and commanding officer of Ship 253, apart from collaborating to conduct contents determined in the regulations on joint patrol, the two sides well carried out information dissemination to mobilize fishermen of the two countries to strictly observe international law and regulations on fishing in the historical waters, contributing to maintaining security, order, peace, and stability to facilitate the two peoples to develop maritime economy.

Thanks to thorough preparations and close coordination among forces, the 73rd joint patrol between the Vietnamese and Cambodian navies ended successfully, serving as an important foundation for the two sides to continue to actualize reached contents in the coming time.
