PANO - Vietnam and Singapore should beef up their cooperation in naval and air force, military medicine and training military doctors to join UN peace-keeping forces.
This was stated by Senior Lieutenant-General Le Huu Duc, Deputy Minister of Defence at his reception given to the visiting delegation of Singaporean Military Medical Department, led by its Director, Rear Admiral Kang Wee Lee, on July 8th in Hanoi.
The Vietnamese General hoped that the two sides’ military medical forces would soon implement the cooperation programs reached during their discussion, and stressed the practical significance of the development of ties between the two armies in general and the two military medical forces in particular. He also highly appreciated the outcome of the working session between the Vietnam and Singapore Military Medical Departments.
For his part, the visiting Rear Admiral Kang Wee Lee of Singapore pointed out that discussions between the two departments, especially on shared experiences in joining UN peace-keeping forces and the possibility of cooperation in social activities, would be the premise for an efficient and fruitful Vietnam-Singapore military medical forces’ cooperation.
