These working programs were held within the framework of the official Argentina visit of National Assembly (N.A.) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese N.A.
During the meetings, the Argentine defense leaders welcomed Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam to the country. They affirmed that the visit of the Vietnamese delegation would contribute to fostering the two countries’ traditional friendship in fields, including defense cooperation, especially in the time that the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties (October, 1973 - 2023).
For his part, Gen. Nam highly appreciated the growing role of Argentina in international and regional organizations, as well as its contribution to solving regional and global issues, contributing to consolidating peace, security, cooperation, and development in Latin America and the world.

Gen. Nam thanked the host for the reception and expressed his delight at meeting and working with the leaders of Argentina’s Ministry of Defense, considering this an opportunity for the two sides to discuss directions to promote bilateral defense cooperation.
In an open and frank atmosphere, the two sides exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concern, each country's defense policies, and bilateral defense cooperation. They hoped that the two countries would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral defense cooperation to serve as a basis to promote such potential cooperation contents as United Nations peacekeeping, defense industry, and training in the coming time.
In addition, the host officials proposed to study the possibility of setting up a Defense Attaché Agency in each country to facilitate the exchange of information and effective implementation of the cooperation contents reached by defense leaders of the two countries.
This was the first meeting between leaders of two defense ministries since 2004, demonstrating the two sides' desire to promote defense cooperation in line with the development of Vietnam - Argentina comprehensive partnership and meeting the needs and interests of both sides in the new situation.
