PANO – The Slovakian army expected to broaden cooperation with the Vietnam People’s Army, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and in the world, said a Slovakian diplomat.
In a reception given by Vietnamese Minister of National Defence, General Phung Quang Thanh, to newly-accredited Slovakian Ambassador to Vietnam Igor Pacolak in Hanoi on June 24th, the ambassador also asked the two defence ministries to attach importance to cooperation in terms of education, visit exchanges and defence industry, to share experiences and to support each other in peacekeeping operations.
The ambassador hoped that the two countries will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral defence cooperation.
General Phung Quang Thanh expressed his hope that the ambassador will make active contributions to strengthening the friendship between the two armies and peoples during his term in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese general stressed that Vietnamese people and army will never forget Slovakia’s valuable support for Vietnam in the wars and in the cause of developing the country.
General Phung Quang Thanh said that Vietnam treasures bilateral cooperation with Slovalia, including defence ties. He believed that the two defence ministries will seek more cooperation opportunities, to benefit both sides.
