On the morning of May 12 (local time), the Vietnamese defense delegation attended the opening ceremony of IDEB 2026 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The event was attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kalinak.

IDEB is a biennial event jointly organized by the Slovak Ministries of Defense and Interior. IDEB 2026 is taking place from May 12 to 14 at the exhibition and convention center of Incheba Expo Bratislava.

The exhibition is considered one of the major defense events in Central and Eastern Europe, focusing on defense industry, homeland and civil security, as well as international and defense cooperation.

Following the opening ceremony, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation toured exhibition booths and displays at the event.

According to the organizers, IDEB 2026 features the participation of 150 companies from 17 countries in and outside Europe, showcasing more than 250 modern military and security systems and equipment.

Many major defense corporations and enterprises are participating in the exhibition, such as Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Thales, ThyssenKrupp, Rafael, Saab, Colt CZ, Tatra, and the NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI).

At IDEB 2026, Slovakia’s DMD Group has unveiled for the first time its next-generation ShKH EVA M3 6×6 self-propelled howitzer, the SAM120 self-propelled mortar system, and the mobile post command vehicle CPV II, reflecting the development direction of Slovakia’s defense industry.

The exhibition attracts a large number of visitors.

Czech Republic’s EVPU Defense has introduced the latest-generation TURRA 30 V10 remote-controlled turret system. Meanwhile, Israel’s BARAK MX multi-mission air and missile defense system has also attracted significant public attention and is regarded as one of the world’s most advanced air defense solutions.

During the exhibition, visitors have opportunities to watch demonstrations by UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and C-27J Spartan transport aircraft; anti-armed-crime performances by a special police unit under the Slovak Ministry of Interior; explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robot demonstrations and drone attack simulations by the Slovak Armed Forces; as well as close-combat performances by Slovak special forces units.
