According to UNDP Mine Action Advisor Nil Christensen, UNDP is running mine action projects in 20 countries around the world. The training course this time provided participants with new approaches and other countries’ success stories as well as their application to the implementation of mine action work in Vietnam.

The course is part of the project “Vietnam-RoK cooperation in overcoming unexploded ordnance (UXO) consequences in Vietnam,” which is scheduled to run for three years (2018-2020) to eliminate the effects of UXO, restoring safety for people in daily life and production, promoting socio-economic development in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh provinces, where 30%-40% of the land is contaminated with UXO.
