RoK’s National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day observed in Hanoi
PANO - Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do Hyon and his spouse hosted a party in Hanoi on October 4 in celebration of the Republic of Korea’s National Day (October 3) and Armed Forces Day (October 1).
Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung; Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Major General Ngo Minh Tien; representatives from ministries and departments at the central and local levels; foreign defense attaches to Vietnam; friendship organizations; businessmen; and Korean nationals in Vietnam attended the event.

Delegates observed a minute's silence in memory of former Party General Secretary Do Muoi and State President Tran Dai Quang.
At his opening remark, Ambassador Kim Do Hyon highlighted the achievements obtained by the RoK Government and people over the past time.
The Korean diplomat underlined that the RoK and Vietnam have witnessed a robust and extensive development in the bilateral relationship. The RoK is one of the largest investors in Vietnam. Especially, the upgrading of the bilateral relationship to a strategic cooperative partnership marked a significant milestone in the bilateral ties.
He expressed his belief that the relationship between the RoK and Vietnam will be further strengthened, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and world.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Party, State and people, Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung congratulated the RoK Government and people on their special anniversaries and stated that Vietnam is confident, the RoK will continue to successfully implement the five-year Plan for the Administration of State Affairs for 2017-2022.
He affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to further expanding the strategic partnership and cooperation with the RoK, particularly in trade, investment, high-tech, and tourism.
