During the event, General Chien and the delegation surveyed the construction site of the friendship project of Sang Sovanna Primary School in Svay Teap District of Cambodia’s Svay Rieng Province. At Moc Bai International Border Gate of Vietnam and Bavet International Border Gate of Cambodia, the two sides examined proposed sites for welcoming and seeing off senior leaders, holding a sovereignty marker saluting ceremony, conducting joint border patrols, and planting friendship trees as part of the Vietnam–Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program.

The delegations also inspected the site for the joint military medical drill in Ben Cau commune of Vietnam’s Tay Ninh Province. This event underscores the two sides’ coordination and readiness in responding to emergencies and serving border communities.

The Vietnamese delegates also surveyed the site for the construction of Ben Cau Commune Primary School and Long Thuan Commune Cultural and Sports Center, the proposed venue for the twinning ceremonies of residential clusters along the border. They also visited Tan Ninh Ward Cultural and Sports Center, where the Vietnam–Cambodia Young Border Officers Exchange Program is planned to be hosted.

During the inspection, the Vietnamese deputy defense minister highlighted the significance of the event. He emphasized that the Vietnam–Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange not only is an annual practical event in the defense sector, but also contributes significantly to strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and ties between the two militaries and peoples. He affirmed the military's pivotal role in defense diplomacy and in building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

General Chien requested all relevant agencies and units to continue thoroughly reviewing and completing preparations to ensure the event is conducted with utmost solemnity and absolute safety, thereby deepening the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The same day, General Chien and the delegation visited and inspected the Defensive Area 3 Command under the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command, during which he acknowledged and praised the efforts and pro-activeness of the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Defensive Area 3 in restructuring the organization and staffing in accordance with higher levels’ guidance and regulations on building an elite, compact, and strong local military apparatus while maintaining operational continuity.

He urged the unit to swiftly stabilize its organizational structure and operate effectively; continue developing and finalizing combat readiness documents and combat readiness plans; and work closely with local authorities to efficiently implement military and defense tasks.
