During the course, editors and newscasters of the Laos People’s Army will be equipped with editing, interview, and reporting skills and experience as well as methods and process of producing a news program.

In addition, the trainees will tour the Voice of Vietnam, the headquarters of the Military Broadcasting Center, and military units. They will also attend activities to be held in Vietnam, including the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-30), the 50th anniversary of the "Dien Bien Phu in the Air" Victory, and the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Military Broadcasting Center’s Director Major General Nguyen Kim Ton emphasized that over the past years, the unit has welcomed many Lao officers to work and study. He said that the course this time is a vivid symbol of the special solidarity between the Vietnamese and Lao militaries and people.  

Major General Nguyen Kim Ton said that the center’s competent editors are ready to share their valuable experience with the Lao peers, contributing to raising the quality and effectiveness of Laos’ radio and television broadcasting work.

The Military Broadcasting Center’s director added that the refresher course is also to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the two militaries and two peoples in general and military editors and newscasters of the two countries in particular.
