During the one-month course, 23 Lao trainees acquired knowledge on archival work, document storage and the application of IT to doing research on the digitization of documents, methods of sterilization and deacidification, and the process of restoring documents.

Apart from being equipped with experience in collecting and storing classified documents at the MND’s Archives Center and the National Archives Center III, the trainees also had field trips to learn more about the Vietnamese country, people, and military.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Chinh, Deputy Director of the Office, underlined that with high responsibilities and great efforts of both instructors and learners, the course completed the set targets, ensuring absolute safety for Lao troops.

Meanwhile, Gen. Chinh required Lao trainees to continue studying and creatively applying acquired knowledge to their task performance, contributing to cultivating the special solidarity between the two peoples and the two militaries.

At the event, he also shared that the refresher course was part of activities to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962-2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977-2022) between the two countries.
