The deputy head of the Vietnamese academy, Dr., Lieutenant General Pham Quang Xuan, introduced to the guests the unit’s formation, development, functions and missions. As one of the nation’s leading centers on education and training for studying defence and military strategies, the academy has in the past sent a number of delegations of its officers and trainees to countries abroad for further study and to give lectures. In turn, it has also opened courses for nearly 1,000 senior officers from all over the world.

The host hoped that there will be more delegation exchanges between the two schools, so that their staff could learn experience in training and conducting research from each other, contributing to fostering the cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two schools in particular and the two armies in general.

On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Chief of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Air Commodore Andrew Woods expressed his pleasure at visiting and understanding more about Vietnam, its people and army, as well as the academy.

During the meeting, leaders of the Vietnamese academy also answered questions raised by the delegation on the academy’s lecturing work and Vietnam’s role and position in the region.
