Earlier, on June 12, Ship 251 and Ship 1141 of Ream Naval Base under the Royal Cambodian Navy conducted a joint patrol in the Vietnam - Cambodia historic waters.

During the patrol, the two sides carried out the “Hello ASEAN” greeting procedure for ASEAN naval vessels, exchanged information, conducted training in hand-flag and light-signal communications in accordance with the International Code of Signals, and practiced search and rescue operations.

The joint patrol aimed to help maintain security, order, peace, and stability in the Vietnam - Cambodia historic waters. It also targeted to facilitate livelihood activities of fishermen from both countries in accordance with long-established customs and practices. The activity contributed to preventing illegal fishing operations while strengthening cooperation, enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two navies.
