The two sides sign the minutes of cooperation.

At the event, the two sides evaluated that despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides have effectively coordinated in different fields, including information exchange, maintenance of political security, order and safety along the borderline. They have also supported each other in disseminating information, stabilizing life of border people. Up to date, 71 units under Military Region 7 have twinned with 76 units under the Royal Cambodian Army.

In addition, the two sides have effectively carried out delegation exchanges, joint patrols, personnel training, and opened short refresher courses. Outcomes have also seen in twinning activities, cultural and sport exchanges, search and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer troops and advisers who laid down their lives during the war in Cambodia, provision of medical supplies to fight COVID-19, and exchanges of greetings on the occasion of lunar New Year and founding anniversaries of units.

In the coming time, the two sides will continue to closely coordinate and comprehensively implement cooperation activities defined in the cooperation plan and protocol in 2022 signed between the two defense ministries and the memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the two commands as signatories in an intensive, practical and effective manner.

They agreed to boost information exchange, joint patrols, close control of the border line and border markers, prevention and control of cross-border crimes, illegal border crossings, and illegal immigration. They will also enhance information dissemination to raise awareness of people living on both sides of the borderline of enforcing agreements reached by both governments; actively give recommendations on completing border marker planting, especially in provinces under Military Region 7 bordering with Cambodia.
