Major General Hua Van Tuong, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5 and head of the delegation, said that the medical supplies reflect the military region’s sentiment and responsibility for the Lao military units in the anti- COVID-19 fight.

Colonel Phouveune, Political Commanding Officer of Viengxay Training School for the Enlisted No.2, held that the COVID-19 pandemic suddenly broke out again in Laos over the last two months. The pandemic is under control thanks to urgent measures of the Lao government; however, the risk of the pandemic resurgence is still present, he added. Therefore, the medical supplies of Military Region 5 are meaningful to the COVID-19 prevention and control work of the Lao armed forces and people, he stressed.

On the occasion, the Da Nang Municipal Military Command and the Military School of Military Region 5 handed over thousands of face masks, medical equipment, food and necessities to the two units of the Lao People’s Army.
