He noted that Vietnam and Cuba have a special relationship of solidarity, friendship and loyalty, standing side by side with each other in the difficult times of each country and supporting each other to overcome challenges.

Especially, amid the complicated development of COVID-19, the Cuban Party, State and military have supported Vietnam in the fight against the pandemic. Cuba sent top medical experts to Vietnam, presented medicines and held teleconferences to share experience in preventing and controlling COVID-19.

On this occasion, General Thang wished that Cuba would further develop and firmly protect the Fatherland.

For his part, Cuban Defense Attaché in Vietnam Colonel Juan Miguel Garcia Montano, thanked Vietnam for the greetings and promised that despite complicated situations in the region and the world, the friendship between the two countries is always an invaluable asset and will never be changed.

The two sides shared a view that bilateral defense cooperation is an important pillar in the Vietnam-Cuba partnership, contributing to strengthening special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
