Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, chaired the welcoming ceremony for the Malaysian military delegation and immediately after that, the two generals had talks.

On this occasion, Vice Admiral Nam affirmed that Vietnam and Malaysia have witnessed sound developments of their bilateral defense relationship, including naval cooperation. The two navies have regularly worked together and promptly dealt with issues occurred on their shared water zones.

For his part, Admiral Kamarulzaman spoke highly of the Vietnam-Malaysia naval ties, and believed that this relationship will be considerably expanded in the time to come. He also invited the Vietnamese submarine unit to visit Malaysia and exchange experience with Malaysian counterparts.

The Vietnamese navy chief shared the same view with his Malaysian counterpart and pledged to send submarine troops to Malaysia after receiving the agreement from the two countries’ Governments and Defense Ministries. He also urged the two navies to further promote delegation exchanges and cooperation in the fields of mutual concern.
