At the meeting before the tour, PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Long briefed the guests on PAN’s establishment and development over the past years. In wartime, the military newspaper served as a special spiritual gift for troops in the frontline and their families back home.

He emphasized that over the past seven decades, under the leadership of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Department of Politics, and generations of PAN reporters have devoted their talent to the development of the newspaper.
At present, PAN is one of the rare multimedia newspapers in Vietnam to offer multiple language versions. Apart from the Vietnamese edition, the PAN also publishes articles in English, Chinese, Lao, and Khmer to serve readers around the world. Over the past years, the newspaper has published various articles on Vietnam-Laos relations and cooperation activities between the Military University of Culture and Arts and PAN.
At the event, the Military University of Culture and Arts’ head delegate Senior Colonel Trinh Lan Huong thanked the newspaper for the warm reception for the delegation, especially for Lao students. She hoped that in the coming time the newspaper will continue creating favorable conditions for Lao students to enrich their journalism expertise.
On the occasion, Head of the Online People’s Army Newspaper Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Minh shared experience in reporting important events. He said that the current reporters have effectively mastered and taken full advantage of modern technologies to build the PAN into a leading political newspaper in Vietnam.
After the meeting, the delegation toured some departments of the People’s Army Newspaper to learn about the process of publishing news on printed and online newspapers.
