Lao military art troupe performs in MR4
PANO – A military art troupe of the Lao People’s Army organized an art program highlighting the special friendship between Laos and Vietnam in Military Region 4 (MR4) on September 6.
This was a practical program in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos (July 18, 1977 - 2017), the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - 2017) and the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Year of Solidarity and Friendship.

Present at the event were Colonel Phimpha Bounnapha, head of the Lao military art troupe, and Major General Tran Tien Dung, MR4’s Deputy Political Commissar.
Speaking at the program, Major General Doan Ngoc Son, MR4’s Deputy Political Chief, stated that Vietnam and Laos are close neighboring countries with traditional solidarity and time-honored friendship. Within the framework of joint activities of the two armies over the past years, MR4’s art troupe and the Lao military art troupe organized many art exchange programs.
For his part, Colonel Phimpha Bounnapha briefed the host on the 49-year development of the Lao People’s Army and stressed that they were honored to perform in MR4. The Lao senior officer pledged to offer best performances to MR4’s troops, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity between the two armies.
During the visit to Vietnam, the Lao military art troupe will perform at Divisions 324 and 968 of MR4 and several units of Military Region 5.
