At the reception, Sr. Lt. Gen. Thang underlined that defense and military cooperation between the two countries has developed well over the past years with practical results, becoming an important pillar in the bilateral relations.

For his part, Major General Kongthoong Soukhavong informed Sr. Lt. Gen. Thang about the results of the talks with Major General Nguyen Huy Canh, Director of the Department of Operations of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA). He also expressed his wish that the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the VPA’s General Staff continue creating favorable conditions for the two agencies to strengthen cooperation.

Highly appreciating the results of the talks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang affirmed that the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the VPA’s General Staff always attach importance to and create the most favorable conditions for the cooperation between the two units.
